I’ve already talked about myself on the home page of this website. So let me describe here what New World Astrology is about. The “New World” is not referring to North America or the lands that Europeans discovered and conquered to the detriment of the native culture. Far from!

This New World speaks to what the Hopi prophesied as the Fifth World dawning out of the ashes of the Fourth World. (This is the cycle of rises and falls in human history - this being the fifth major transition according to the Hopi.) This new world already exists as the old world is quickly decaying and fading away. So the purpose of New World Astrology and what I stand for and work towards is this emerging paradigm, one that is reconnecting with earth and land and healing our multi-generational traumas.

We all have our own individual struggles and joys. It’s important to find life in our daily routines however those might look today. But it’s impossible to ignore the huge transition that is underway, and ultimately, healing on an individual level leads us to this. There is no true individual healing that does not connect us with a tribe or community that is focused on sustainability - a lasting future as one with the earth.

So I just hope to do my part, cultivating a kind of astrological practice that is aligned with where we are now, globally and transitionally, and to help my clients find their place and their ability to flow with these rapid currents of change. We live in difficult but exciting times!

Whether or not we have children or want to have children, I think we all want to support a future that is better - for humans and our other-than-human kin - than the world we entered. So let’s work on that, in whatever small or big ways we can.

There are ways that astrology speaks to these major cycles and transitions. The precessional cycle - or what is called the Yuga Cycle in India and the Great Year in other cultures - is a 26,000 year cycle that corresponds to these major civilizational or global transitions. And on a smaller scale, one message of the birth chart is that we were born here at this precise moment for a reason. It’s a message of empowerment and possibility (though it’s okay to have fear too!).
