What is Astro Counseling?
Consider the stereotypical fortune-telling astrologer. You walk in, dazzled by the mysteriousness of the space. You sit down and ask: When will I be rich? When will I find my ideal partner? When should I move? When should I invest in this new opportunity? Or if not “when”: Will I be rich? Will I be successful? Will I get the promotion? Will I meet someone soon?
These are all valid questions! And I have offered these kinds of readings in the past. But this is not what astro-counseling is about.
While such questions are valid and we might even get to some predictions in the course of our counseling sessions, this is not a space for quick or easy answers. It’s a space to align with the depths of who we are and what is present with us on a given day or moment. It’s a space to be challenged. It’s a space to discover our authenticity or pieces of our authenticity that may be buried, lost, or misunderstood.
This kind of work, like any kind of counseling, is hard. It’s vulnerable. But it also can be deeply empowering and it can lift our spirits to new heights.
Fortunately with this kind of counseling, we have the planets to guide us. The planets speak to our experience, so this is really about your experience more than any intellectual understanding of astrology. But what kinds of experience are these planets speaking to? What are these cycles really about?
Who are you? What are your gifts? What does a healthy relationship look like for you? What stands in the way?
You don’t need to have any astrology knowledge or even interest to pursue this kind of counseling. In any case, my looking at the charts will help to guide our discussions and get to what really matters. There is not as much focus on childhood as with traditional therapy. I’ll be focused largely on where you’re going or where you might be going which brings us to where you are now. But we likely will focus on childhood and past experiences too!
It’s dynamic and depends on what is present in the moments we share. My main goal is just that: to be present, to be open, to listen, to encourage, and not to force or judge in any way.
I enjoy connecting. I enjoy listening. And I enjoy learning about how the horoscope speaks to your unique life and character. If you are interested, I look forward to journeying with you - be it for one session or more.
